Expanding the Ti line

The R&D team was busy again. The development of new products for 2002 included: a new ti hard tail mountain bike, a new ti cross bike, a compact version of our ti road bike and a special edition of our steel Crown Jewel which features an 1 1/8" head tube with all carbon fork and sterling silver head badge. IF offerings for 2002 include 8 models and 112 stock sizes.

We made 3 prototypes of the ti mountain bike and gave them to Johs Huseby, Cristina Bagey and Ken Helgeson to race. Cristina was the winner and National Champion for the inaugural 24 hour solo race held on August 7, 2001, in Winter Park, Colorado. This was a particularly nice way to begin our R&D effort on the Ti Deluxe.

While the results were not as dramatic, a similar process was followed in the development of the Ti Planet Cross. Opportunities for formal cross competition were not available in the summer of 2001, but look to this fall season for Johs Huseby and others as they demonstrate the racing prowess of the Ti Planet Cross.
