Matt has been involved with performances bicycles since he was certified by the Olympic Training Center as a race mechanic in 1988. For the past two years Matt lectured at the Olympic Training Center about frame design and materials.

Straight out of college, Matt went to work for Mavic, Inc. During the early part of his career he learned the importance of working under pressure in the action packed race environment. Matt ran the Mavic Neutral Assistance program and traveled all over North America and beyond. Early in 1993, Matt left Mavic and went to work for Merlin Metalworks, Inc. in Cambridge, MA. Merlin was where Matt learned about titanium frame design and fabrication. Matt left Merlin in 1999 and went to Independent at which point he helped to start the Ti bike line. Five years later, with thousands of custom designs under his belt, Matt is more excited and enthusiastic than ever. Matt has also helped support the Independent Fabrication Womens Elite Team with bicycles and components for the past 5 seasons.

Matt is accompanied to work everyday by his best friend, soul-mate and loyal companion, a four legged yellow lab named Charleston.
