IF
warranties each steel frame against defects in
craftsmanship for the lifetime of the original owner,
and the materials for a period of five (5) years. The
warranty for our titanium frames is for the life of
the original owner. Forks and other components sold
by IF, but manufactured by others, are covered by
their manufacturers.
Should problems occur in the course of normal use
due to defects in materials or workmanship, we will
repair or replace the frame through your Authorized
Dealer. Normal use does not include damage incurred
by trials riding, stunt riding, ramp riding,
acrobatics, or training for these activities. The IF
warranty does not cover the labor of component removal
and/or replacement or normal wear such as minor dents
and scratches. The IF warranty does not cover damage
incurred because of improper maintenance or
abuse.
Whether or not the frame is covered under warranty,
IF will do all that we can to keep you riding. We
encourage all IF riders to work through their
Authorized Dealer. If there is damage, we will work
with the Dealer to get you riding again as quickly as
possible.
IF reserves the right to repair or replace the
frame at our discretion. If the decision is made to
replace the frame or if the needed repairs require us
to repaint the frame, the customer may elect to change
colors to any of the then current stock colors at no
charge as long as the paint job selected is equal in
value to the original. Paint jobs which are more
expensive than the original may be ordered for an
appropriate up-charge.
The paint job on an actively ridden frame has an
estimated useful life of 5 years. If a frame subject
to warranty repair shows evidence of wear consistent
with this estimate, we will charge a pro rata amount
for the new paint job. For example, a 3-year old
Deluxe becomes eligible for a warranty repair due to a
failed water bottle brazeon. The paint job shows wear
consistent with 3 years of active use. The customer
will be charged nothing for the repair, but will be
charged 60% of the cost of a new paint job. If the
same bike required the same repair, but was maintained
in as new condition, IF will cover the full cost of
the repaint.
Take your damaged IF frame to your Authorized Dealer. The Dealer will:
- Verify that you are the original owner of the frame (proof of purchase may be required by either the Dealer of by IF)
- Examine the frame to determine whether the circumstances of the damage justify a warranty claim
- Call IF and obtain a Return Authorization Number
All of the employee owners of IF thank you for your support.
